Is Botox® safe? |
Botox® is accepted as one of the safest cosmetic treatments today. Side effects are rarely serious and almost always temporary.
The most common side effect is bruising, which can be minimized by avoiding aspirin, anti-inflammatory medication
and Vitamin E for at least 48 hours prior to treatment.
We do not administer Botox® if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. |
What areas does Botox® treat? |
Vertical lines between the brows (frown lines) |
How does Botox® work? |
Most frown lines are caused by excessive contraction of certain muscles.
Tiny injections of Botox® (produced by the bacteria Botulinum Toxin type A) are administered
to block the release of the chemical that causes muscles to contract. Once the muscles are at rest,
the skin becomes smoother, creating a more natural and relaxed appearance.
This effect is always temporary, usually lasting up to four months. |
What does Botox® treatment involve? |
There will be an initial consultation with Dr. Klein to discuss your goals and medical history.
After Dr. Klein makes his recommendations, you can determine which sites will achieve the best results for you.
Performed in the office, the simple, safe procedure of several tiny injections takes about 10-15 minutes.
Since the procedure is nonsurgical, no recovery time is needed. |
When will my treatment start to work? |
It generally takes from 3 to 5 days and up to two weeks to see results. |
Can I wear makeup to my appointment? |
The area to be treated will have to be clean for the procedure.
If you would like to remove your makeup after getting to our office, we are happy to provide you
with the appropriate products. Please allow a little extra time prior to your appointment for this. |
